Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PHOTELIER LLC handles your information across all of our services: our photo booth kiosks, this website (including digital photo downloads), and the PHOTELIER mobile app. We design everything around data minimization — we collect only what is needed to run the service, and we never sell your data.

1. Photo Booths — Face Tracking & Biometric Data (Texas CUBI Compliance)

To apply our AR emoji stickers and photo filters, our photo booth software uses real-time Face Detection and Face Tracking technology.

No Facial Recognition:We do NOT use facial recognition technology. Our system only detects facial geometry temporarily to overlay digital graphics on the screen. It cannot and will not be used to identify who you are.

Instant Destruction of Biometric Data:This facial tracking data is processed instantly on the machine during your session. It is never saved to any database, never uploaded to any server, never sold to third parties, and is automatically destroyed the moment your camera session ends.

Personal Color Add-On:Our optional Personal Color analysis is a short style questionnaire. Your answers — including an optional gender, age group and a self-selected skin-tone swatch — are processed only in memory during your session and are never saved, uploaded or linked to you. The result card may include a photo of you; it is delivered through your private QR download and deleted on the same schedule as the rest of your session media (see Section 2). The result is a personal styling reference only — it is not a professional consultation, and no analysis of your face or skin is stored.

2. Photo Booths — 24-Hour Cloud Deletion (Data Retention)

When you finish taking photos at a booth, your original photos and videos are temporarily uploaded to our secure cloud server solely to allow you to download them via a QR code.

Automatic Deletion:Your photos, videos, and associated files are automatically deleted from our cloud servers 24 hours after they are uploaded — normally right after your session. Our cleanup job runs every hour, so deletion happens no later than about 25 hours after upload. The cloud storage that holds booth media keeps no backup or recovery copies, so deleted media cannot be restored. If the booth’s internet connection is down, your photos and video are held on the booth itself until they can be uploaded; they are removed from the booth as soon as the upload succeeds, or after 72 hours if it never does, and the 24 hours then count from the upload. Separately, the booth stores a copy of the printed sheet for up to 72 hours so staff can re-print it after a paper jam or printer failure. That copy never leaves the booth and is then deleted automatically (if the booth is switched off at that time, as soon as it is turned back on).

3. Mobile App — Information We Collect

The PHOTELIER mobile app lets you purchase photo sessions, design custom frames, and redeem them at our booths with a QR coupon. To provide these features, we collect and store the following when you use the app:

  • Account information — your email address, display name, and date of birth when you create an account. Passwords are managed securely by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your raw password. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google (or Apple, where available), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider.
  • Purchase and coupon records — the items you order (frame layout, theme, quantity), the amount paid, and the coupons issued to your account, including when and at which booth a coupon was redeemed.
  • Content you create — photo reviews (text, star rating, and photos you attach) and background images you upload for custom frames.
  • Push notification token — a device token, only if you enable push notifications.
  • Safety records — reports you submit about other users’ content and your personal block list.

No Ads, No Tracking:The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics trackers, and no behavioral profiling of any kind. We collect nothing for marketing purposes.

4. Mobile App — How We Use Your Information

We use the information above solely to operate the service: to maintain your account, process your purchases, issue and redeem coupons at our booths, print the custom frames you designed, display the reviews you choose to post, send the notifications you opted into (purchase confirmations, coupon expiration reminders, and service announcements), moderate reported content, and respond to your support requests. Nothing more.

5. Payments (Stripe)

All payments — at our booth kiosks and in the mobile app — are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS certified payment processor.

We Never See Your Card:Your card number is entered directly into Stripe’s secure payment interface and is never transmitted to, seen by, or stored on PHOTELIER servers. We only receive a confirmation that the payment succeeded, along with the order amount and a transaction reference. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy).

6. Content You Post Is Public

Photo reviews you post in the app — including your display name, review text, rating, and any photos you attach — are publicly visible to other users of the app. Please do not include personal information in a review that you do not want others to see. You can delete your own reviews at any time from within the app, and deleting your account removes all of your reviews and review photos.

7. Push Notifications

Push notifications are strictly opt-in. If you enable them, we store a device push token and use it only to notify you about your own purchases and coupons (for example, when a coupon is issued or is about to expire) and occasional service announcements. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push notification service. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your device settings, and we automatically remove tokens for devices that are no longer registered.

8. Data Retention & Account Deletion

Your app data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app (My Page → Delete Account). When you do:

  • Your account profile, sign-in credentials, push tokens, reviews, and review photos are permanently deleted.
  • Your unused coupons are deleted and can no longer be redeemed.
  • Order records are anonymized — they are permanently unlinked from your identity but retained (amount, date, and items only) as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes.
  • Frame background images you uploaded may be retained temporarily to honor coupons that were already issued, and transaction records held by Stripe are retained by Stripe as required by financial regulations.
  • Deleted photos and images — review photos, profile pictures, and frame backgrounds — may remain in our cloud storage provider’s recovery storage for up to 30 days before they are permanently erased; during that time no one can see them through our services.

You may also request deletion or a copy of your data by contacting us using the details below.

9. Service Providers & No Sale of Personal Data (Texas Data Privacy & Security Act)

We are in the business of making memories, not selling data. We strictly do not sell, rent, or trade your photos, videos, or any personal information to marketing agencies, data brokers, or any other third parties. We share data only with the infrastructure providers required to run the service:

  • Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions.
  • Stripe — payment processing (see Section 5).
  • Expo — push notification delivery (see Section 7).
  • Google / Apple sign-in — only if you choose to sign in with those providers.

10. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Our photo booths are located in family-friendly venues and can be used by customers of all ages; because the booth system automatically deletes all cloud media about 24 hours after upload without extracting personal identities, the privacy of all users — including minors — is protected by design. The PHOTELIER mobile app, however, requires an account and is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced through the app or this website.
